J.M.J. Saint Luke, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, presented the account of the Annunciation in his Gospel (1:26-38). We marvel at Our Lady's receptivity to all that God wanted of her.
Surrender to the Lord brings us peace. As Dante (circa 1265-1321) penned in his Divine Comedy, "In His Will is our peace."
On the other hand, our souls remain in turmoil when we pursue our own way rather than God's.
On this second day of Advent, we turn to Jesus and ask for His grace to persevere, with joy, until we find ourselves safe in Heaven.
