First Friday, December 5, 2014

J.M.J. Advent is a short liturgical season. And its duration changes year-to-year. Yes, there are always four Sundays during Advent, but there may not be four Mondays . . . or Tuesdays . . . or Wednesdays. It depends on what day of the week Christmas Day lands.

Lent is different. There are always the forty days of Lent. Why? Because Easter is always on a Sunday.

The date of Christmas Day is influenced by the sun, that of Easter Sunday by the moon.

Have a beautiful First Friday, close to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, pray for us.
