Dear Brothers and Sisters in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
“Jesus said to them, ‘Did you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes? Therefore, I say to you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit.’”
Is it possible to lose the Kingdom of Heaven once you have access to it? Yes. The Kingdom of Heaven is precious. This magnificent gift must be guarded. May we never be deemed unworthy of it!
*Let us pray for the happy repose of the Soul of Thomas R. Haiar, whose Funeral Mass was held in Saint Mary of Mercy Church this past week. May the comfort of the Holy Family of Nazareth be upon all who remember him.
*Please pray for Diane Moen, Father Dana Christensen, Father Ken Lulf, Father Antonio Ramos, Father Richard Baumberger and Kathy Engerbrecht.
*We understand that many cases of, and exposure to, COVID-19 are now in Emery. We lift up these suffering persons to God through Our Lady of Good Health.
*Please pray for our Carmelites who continue their Retreat this week.
*Thank you to all those who participated in the cleanup of the Fatima Family Shrine a few weeks ago.
*If you know of anyone who would like to become a Catholic, then please let me know.
*Last Saturday, the Family of Father Christensen moved his belongings from the Rectory in Alexandria. Father Ken Lulf would like for me to move to Alexandria in order to be in place for the daily Mass at 7:30 a.m. in the Carmelite Monastery of Our Mother of Mercy and Saint Joseph. Perhaps this transfer will occur during October. Although I will be pleased to live in Alexandria, I regret leaving Emery, and I remain thankful to all there who have been so kind and gracious. In fact, I am grateful to all from Bridgewater, Emery, Alexandria and the Discalced Carmelites.
*Please pray for our Bishop, Priests and Deacons who gather this week near Chamberlain for the annual Clergy Days.
*If you know of an ill person who is in need of a priestly visit, then please contact me.
"What is Your Question?"
By Father Ben Miriam
Q. What are the Gregorian Masses?
A. The “Gregorian Masses,” is a set of thirty Masses, collectively, each Mass being offered on thirty consecutive days for the Soul of a deceased person. The longstanding tradition is that these Masses assist that Soul in the passage from Purgatory to Heaven. Some Monasteries have Priests who are able to celebrate the Gregorian Masses. This is a very pious and efficacious custom.
