J.M.J.
If today, April 13th, were not during the Octave of Easter, then we could liturgically commemorate Saint Martin I, Pope and Martyr (649-655).
He is remembered for his great sanctity and his presidency of the Lateran Council of 649, which declared, in conformity with previous Church teaching, that Mary Most Holy was a virgin before, during and after the Birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Lady's Perpetual Virginity is another jewel in Her heavenly crown.
V. Ever-Virgin Mary,
R. Pray for us.
