An excerpt from "Eschatology and the Church in the Light of the Assumption" by the Reverend Paul E. Duggan in Marian Studies, Volume 56 [2005], 155:
Since Mary is the Mother of all believers, the Assumption teaches us that we, like her, are not destined for the deep pit of death and despair, but rather for the glory of Heaven's everlasting life. In Mary we are able to see what God intends and is doing for all of us.
